Salzburg, Austria
I loved Salzburg and would definitely come back to visit. Here are some of my favorite memories.
Walk Old Town
There are so many great sites to see! We usually start getting our bearings by walking around the city. We started at Mozartplatz, made stops at the many cathedrals/churches, Kapitelplatz, St. Peter’s Cemetery, plus many more!
Visit Hohensalzburg Fortress
You’ll have some great views of the entire city! You can choose to ride the funicular or walk. If you can, walk. It’s a steep, but quick walk. Think of the extra calories burned as you’re making your way up 🙂
Walk through the Mirabell Gardens
I love flower beds, especially a variety of colors. The garden is stunning and you’ll also get a great view up to the Hohensalzburg Fortress. It’s also where they filmed some scenes of the Sound of Music.
Visit the Salzburg Cathedral
It’s huge! 330 feet long and 230 feet tall. It has great detail and is beautiful to walk through. Sunday Mass is supposed to be a musical spectacle. I believe it – it has five organs!
Have a beer at Augustiner Bräustübl
